About the show

The Black Bear Band was formed by singer-songwriter Craig Banks, deeply inspired by his personal travels to Nashville, Tennessee.

The gig will be followed up by Round 3 of probably the biggest grudge match in World Rugby at the moment, the Springboks vs France, in France AGAIN… Kickoff is 10pm, so straight after the gig we’ll tune in for kickoff!

More on the Artist:

Craig’s musical journey began as a professional Opera singer in SA and Europe. He was a founding member of The Soundfields with Wayne Pauli, based in London, for many years and has been a featured singer-songwriter touring the US, including the Bowery Electric in New York and the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. But Cape Town still holds a special place in his heart.

Fed on a diet of Rock and Roll, Americana, Country, and Soul, The Black Bear Band mixes these influences into a powerful new sound. Craig will be joined by a Supergroup of Cape Town legends, with Robin Auld on Guitar, Dawie Goldberg on keys, Rob Nel on bass, and Paul Tizzard on drums. This promises to be a special evening showcasing a new EP release produced by Robin Auld. Songs grounded in the earth and rust of people’s lives. The Black Bear Band makes music to move people.
